About the Department
Our department started during the academic year of 2008 -2009 and the PG program was started in the academic year 2012-2013 both programs are affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The department has a unique team of teaching fraternity and facilities that offer students a platform to strengthen their skills. The department offers an impressive atmosphere for academic and research so as to make them globally competent in the current technical scenario.
Our department always doing well in all aspects by arranging guest lectures, seminars, experience learning, Aptitude & Reasoning skill training, and communication practices .The students also motivated to do their academic project with modern software tools like python, Artificial Intelligence, Data science,Chatbot with deep learning concepts. They are also trained to get exposed themselves with the knowledge of basic web development, The students learn to style actual creation of the hardware and software, basic learning terminologies used for the appliance of theories required in solving the sensible problems right from the scratch.
The Department is well equipped with sufficient number of computers and fully networked terminals with the latest hardware and software configuration. It is also established with an online connectivity of 6 Mbps leased line. The department is supported by experienced and well qualified faculty members who help the scholars acquire good knowledge in computing and Engineering.
Outcome Based Education
Computer Science and Engineering at BIoE endeavors to follow the Outcome Based Education for all the UG and PG programme offered under the choice based credit system curriculum. It is aimed to achieve the outcomes in terms of Remembering, Understanding, Applying, Analysing, Evaluating and Create at the end of the programme. This entails a regular methodology for ascertaining the attainment of outcomes, and benchmarking these against the Program Educational Objectives Program Outcomes Program Specific Outcomes consistent with the objectives of the programme.

The Department is well equipped with qualified, dedicated and experienced faculty members to guide the students excel in academics. The faculty members have skills in areas such as artificial intelligence, cryptography, problem solving etc. The faculty members are actively involved in teaching and research. The faculties have published papers in referred International Journals and also presented papers in various International and National Conferences. The department has well equipped laboratories inorder to enhance the skills of students. The Department faculty frequently attends staff development programmes and conferences to present papers.
Department of Computer Science and Engineering follows the Outcome Based Education (OBE) since from the inception of the programme under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) curriculum across all courses offered by the programme. It is targetted at achieving desirable outcomes (in terms of Remembering, Understanding, Applying, Analyzing, Evaluating and Create) at the end of the programme. Teaching with this awareness and making the associated effort constitutes Outcome Based Education. This entails a regular methodology for ascertaining the attainment of outcomes, and benchmarking these against the Program Educational Objectives (PEOs), Program Outcomes (POs), Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs) consistent with the objectives of the programme. The department has an excellent staff student ration as per AICTE norms. In order to exhibit the talents of the students, a department association namely PHOENIX is organizing special lectures, power seminars, workshops, symposia and conferences where they attain technical knowledge and are well enabled to excel in the modern world of technology. In addition to this, the department provides soft skill and technical skill development programmes for the students to prepare for the ready-to-serve industrial requirements with uncompromised professional ethics.
