Workshop on “Career Opportunities and Emerging technologies” was conducted on November 6th, 2024 in the smart class. Ms. Aneesa.T.H, IV year ECE student delivered the welcome address followed by the Presidential address by Dr. C. Emmy Prema, Principal. Then the resource person Mr A.Mohamed Azharuddin, Project Manager, CADPOINT Marthandam gave a brief introduction on Career Opportunities and Emerging technologies. Finally, the session concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms Anjali Surendran, IV year ECE student.

The International Conference on “Innovations in Engineering & Technology ICIET-2K24” was organized on 23rd April 2024 which brought together scholars, researchers, and industry professionals to explore advancements in engineering and technology. The Special Guest Dr. A. Haiter Lenin from Kombolcha Institute of Technology highlighted the importance of international collaboration and offered insights into global engineering trends.

National Space Day Celebration

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering celebrated National Space Day on 23rd August 2024, with vibrant activities. Principal Dr C. Emmy Prema gave a detailed presentation on the Chandrayaan-3 mission, which had successfully landed near the Moon’s south pole. The video presentation on “National Space Day” offered a deep dive into the history and future of space exploration, featuring breath-taking visuals of the moon and highlighting the mission’s objectives, including the search for water-based ice and the exploration of the lunar south pole.

A value-added course on “Build Your First Robot, From Concept To Creation” was conducted for Second year ECE students from 3rd to 10th October 2024. The objective of this course is to provide proper guidance on working with Tinkercad and enable students to undertake projects using Tinkercad Application. The course was delivered by Mr Siva Bala Vignesh, Director, Picobytes Private Ltd.

An International Conference on “IoT Based Instrumentation, FPGA and Artificial Intelligence Technology ICIFAIT’20” was organized on 20th February 2020. The Chief Guest Dr M Marsaline Beno, Vice Principal and Dean (Academics) of St.Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering explored generic ideas among student communities and inspired the developing engineers with the basic concepts of IoT.

Industrial Visit - Kudamkulam Nuclear Power Plant

An industrial visit to Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant was organized on 13th September 2019 for the Second year M.E. Communication Systems students and Final year B.E. students. This visit provided more information about the types of nuclear reactor and generators used for generating electricity.

An industrial visit to KELTRON was organized on 7th February, 2020 for Second and Third year UG students. Students gained information about circuit designing, assembling, controlling and testing.

The Second year ECE students visited Researcher Lyceum Pvt Ltd on 15th March 2024. This visit proved to be an enriching experience in the realm of artificial intelligence and machine learning. The premises boasted a conducive environment for learning and collaboration. Researcher Lyceum Pvt Ltd demonstrated a high level of expertise in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Build Your First Robot, From Concept To Creation

A value-added course on Build Your First Robot, From Concept To Creation was conducted for Second-year ECE students from October 03, 2024, to October 10, 2024. The objective of this course is to provide proper guidance on working with Tinkercad and enable students to undertake projects using Tinkercard Application. In the morning session Mr. Jain Paul explained the basic concept of electronics.The afternoon session was handled by Mr. Siva Bala Vignesh. He explained the concept of Embedded System and also how the Arduino block works. The event was concluded in the afternoon session of October 10, 2024 with assessment and collection of feedback from the students. Based on the assessment results, certificates were awarded to the participants.

Industrial Visit - Koodamkulam

Our department organized an industrial visit to Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant on 12th August, 2022 for the Final year and Third Year UG students. This visit provided more information about the types of nuclear reactor and types of generator used for generating electricity.

Educational Tour

An educational tour to Mysore, Bangalore and Hogenakkal was organized by Our Department from 7th to 11th August, 2019 for UG and PG students. The students gained more knowledge about the traditions and technologies.
